IWC Schaffhausen is extending its Portofino line with a range of new
watches that will be launched this October. The new Midsize models travel the globe with a collection of exclusive photographs taken by star photographer Peter Lindbergh which form the “Timeless Portofino” exhibition. Famous actors and supermodels alike posed in artistic compositionswhich present the Portofino timepieces wonderfully. Peter Lindbergh’s work is set to premiere at the Zurich Film Festival. Cate Blanchett, herself a member of the cast for the shoot, will personally open the IWC exhibition.

The usually tranquil fishing village of Portofino in Italy was the scene of some excitement in May of last year. The reason for this was a photo shoot organized by IWC, with what can only be described as a unique cast. Charismatic star photographer Peter Lindbergh was charged with the task of creating a campaign to launch the new Portofino
watches. Following his every instruction over the course of 3 days were Hollywood actors Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt, Christoph Waltz and Ewan McGregor and Chinese superstar Zhou Xun, as well as supermodels Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova.

Zurich is the first port of call for the “Timeless Portofino” exhibition. “As a partner of the Zurich Film Festival, we wanted to offer visitors something special. We therefore decided to show “Timeless Portofino” in Zurich before it goes travelling around the globe,” continues Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.

After preparations lasting a year, a three-day shoot in Portofino, more than 120 people on set and 21,000 photographs, IWC is sending a selection of the very best pictures on a world tour. The exhibition visits Zurich before travelling on to Hong Kong, London, Miami and finally finishing its journey in Dubai. Peter Lindbergh’s “Timeless Portofino” can be viewed at the Festival Centre at Sechseläutenplatz in Zurich from 28 September to 5 October 2014. There is no charge for admission.
