Warm or tangy colours, peaks and valleys, intertwined shapes, unprecedented volumes… Born in a whirlwind of freshly renewed creativity, Allegra appears to embody the essence of de Grisogono’s style. “The first piece in the Allegra collection that I created 11 years ago embodied a wealth of interwoven feelings, attachments, dreams and visions”, remembers Fawaz Gruosi. “The Allegra collection is the symbol, my symbol, of life and love, made up of ties of varying importance, but always united, always welded.”
After developing the collection with voluptuous rings, earrings and sensual pendants, in 2013 de Grisogono unveiled the Allegra bracelets, a delightful combination of intertwined leather bonds held together by interlacing gold rings.
This year, the watch version of Allegra combines the Geneva company’s jewellery and watchmaking know-how, highlighting its cherished aesthetic codes. First the square: a shape that is far more emblematic of de Grisogono watchmaking than the circle. Then comes a firework display of precious stones. Diamonds, emeralds, pink or red spinels, tsavorites and yellow sapphires, orange or pink sapphires and amethysts bring jewellery extravagance to watchmaking. And finally, the many colourful leather hoops, available in a range of shimmering or tangy colours, wrapped around wrist like 1930s-style bangle wristwatches. A little touch of Hollywood that is completely in keeping with this watch that fits in with the current cuff trend. Fawaz Gruosi, its creator, sees it as an achievement. The wheel has come full circle. “Intertwining, full and solid gold or leather links intertwined. Colourful like life itself, as vibrant as love itself. Rings, earrings, bracelets and now a watch. The collection is complete, and I am very proud of it…”
