The summer break in the Swiss watch industry only serves to accentuate further the frenetic activity of the first half of the year. After the rush to present new models either at the SIHH or Baselworld, or, in many cases, both, there is then a frantic rush to deliver as many of these new pieces as possible before the summer, in the knowledge that if it’s not done by then, nothing will happen until September at the very earliest.
To punctuate this compulsory lull in horological activity, we start a new column for the next three months dedicated to the watches of the summer. A combination of weekly articles from our contributors and the latest releases and events over the summer, it will start with regatta watches and will continue with a wide range of categories into which such estival watches may fall (see below).
Our articles may take the form of trends, analyses or, in certain cases, given the sheer choice of models available, an extensive watch gallery. In either case, you can be sure that they will cover every possible taste and that our expert contributors will, as always, do the research on the hottest luxury watches and trends so that you don’t have to.
